Dr. Van Doren may prescribe medications for you depending on your symptoms, treatment plan and health status. Certain medications may require a collaborative care agreement with your PCP. Your PCP can provide clinical information that Dr. Van Doren cannot obtain remotely with telepsychiatry, such as a physical and neurological examination, EKG, and baseline labs (CBC, BMP, LFTs and a thyroid panel). All patients are encouraged to establish a collaborative care agreement between Dr. Van Doren and their PCP.

Controlled substances include: Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta, Provigil, Nuvigil, Vyvanse, Valium, Xanax, Ativan, clonazepam, muscle relaxants, opioids and other similar medications. Therefore, patients taking controlled substances must initiate care with an office visit, subsequent visits may be via telepsychiatry.
