DR. VAN DOREN

Dr. Van Doren is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He graduated summa cum laude from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, and he completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Arizona Department of Psychiatry. While there, he served one year as chief resident. 

Since 2001, Dr. Van Doren has dedicated his career to practicing psychiatry. He has held various positions in outpatient clinics and inpatient hospitals, including medical director at Hays Medical Center’s 15-bed inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit. He also helped to open the Wheatland campus of KVC Hospitals, where he was the chief psychiatrist for a 24-bed hospital. 

Dr. Van Doren enjoys providing personalized care to his patients in private practice, and he offers both traditional office visits and convenient telepsychiatry appointments. Dr. Van Doren also treats patients and teaches residents at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, and he has an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota where he instructs medical students.
